Robert A. Rivero
has extensive experience in accounting, finance and business advisory. He has worked with many types of business, concentrating
a great portion of his career serving a wide variety of not-for-profit entities. He started his accounting career in New York with KPMG and remained with the Firm until his early retirement.
He served as a senior Managing Partner leading the operations of eight different business units including domestic and overseas
operations. He had domestic posts in Miami, New York and Los Angeles and has also lived in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
His last position at KPMG, prior to taking early retirement, was National Partner in Charge of Accounting & Auditing Services.
He
has also been a financial and business advisor to numerous not-for-profit organizations for almost 30 years and
has a broad perspective on the operations of not-for-profit entities as a result of his experience as:
>
an external auditor
>
a member of numerous boards of trustees/directors
>
the Chairman of the Board of Trustees/Directors
>
the CEO and Founder of a 501(c) (3) corporation
He
currently provides services to not-for-profit entities that require a senior level of expertise but find the cost of
such a resource prohibitive. Mr Rivero provides these services at an affordable price to the organization.
Board Experience:
Mr. Rivero has served on
the Boards of Trustees/Directors for numerous not-for-profit entities in each of the various cities where he has lived. He
has served as Chairman of the Board of a university, a national youth organization and a number of smaller community organizations.
He is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of Pace University in New York City.
In addition, he is the Founder & CEO
of Recovering Assets, Inc. (RAI), a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization, that provides educational workshops on managing personal finances to
recovering addicts and other individuals in community programs.
