Leadership Qualities and Skills
Building relationships of trust
Effective listening techniques
Identifying team payers and non-team players and effective management, motivation and development of both
Creating and enhancing synergism
To achieve the desired results, RAR initially meets with the individual candidate and, if appropriate, their immediate superior to note the areas for suggested focus. RAR may also meet with certain peers and subordinates of the individual to gather additional input. A specific program is then tailored to focus on the areas where improvement is desired and goals to be accomplished and the length of the program are established. A very specific action plan (with time lines) is then developed for the individual and this plan is monitored on a periodic basis. RAR will interact with the individual four times a month; meeting in person at least twice a month, and having phone conversation the other weeks. The number of in-person meetings per month will depend on the focus for development and the activities needed each month to accomplish the goals of the program.
Specific activities are scheduled to be completed by the individual which are meant to develop or improve skills in the agreed-upon focus areas and RAR monitors the results of the activities and refines the action plan as needed, as the individual works towards his/her goal. The action plan will also include activities in which RAR participates with the individual to observe effectiveness at leading meetings, making presentations, interacting with subordinates, etc. At the end of each month, a feedback report is prepared by both the candidate and RAR providing an evaluation of the progress made to date.
